Will a 8.5 10 bolt posi fit my 96 rear? Are they sized specifically for an f-body car?

As always, I am grateful for any replies... tnx

You mean just the center section or the whole axle housing? Either way, neither will be a bolt in option. I don’t think the carrier will work in the 8.8, and the 8.8 in your car is already well ahead of the 10 bolt junk in strength.

Yeah, limited slip is definitely Ford talk for posi. They both spin when you burn em down.

If you really want it to be locked all the time (I know I wouldn’t. Limited slip makes the turns much easier), you should be able to get a gear lock out for your carrier. I’ll look and see if I can find it.
