Transmission Help

I have an issue with my t5, it wont go into 2nd unless you do it really slowly and lightly touch the gas in between the shift. Then it pops in with a noticeable popping noise, wont downshift unless you do the same thing, but its a lil more tricky. going from 1st to 2nd is not a definite grind, unless you completely fuk up trying to get it in, but more of a popping noise/feeling as you let out the clutch. Is this a synchro issue, blocker ring, or something else...I dont know anything about transmissions, but I thought when its a straight up synchro issue it will just straight up grind....


Help me figure this out cause I have another transmission with a blown first gear, and im wondering which would be easier to fix.

I'm trying to do this on a budget and take parts from one trans and put them on the other if at all possible...I have a friend helping me who has done transmission classes.
