just wanted to know what a good rebuild kit is. i also wanted to know your guys opinion was about a 2500 stall converter. right now my car is stock but i plan on doing ported explorer heads and intake in the near future. thanks

i know they say you need to give your specs to the converter builder and they will tell you what stall is right for your combo....but i just threw a PI stallion 3000 stall 9.5'' lockup in my 94 and it freaking runs great.

my old edge converter was trash and i would never tell anyone to get one.

as for mods you can do everything under the sun to it but till you get rid of the factory computer settings your still missing out. check out www.becontols.comhttp:// that thing is the number 1 best thing i did to my tranny.

next best thing other then the PI stallion was the wide ratio gear set...this is a must as far as I'm concerned. as for all the little mods my trannsgo shift kit instructions had a few great mods in it like using a Lincoln pressure plate and adding more discs to the clutch packs. do a search on here there are a ton of little mods that are all worth the time and effort to do while its apart.

PS.... don't forget to get the mechanicail diode....the part this replaces is the reason my tranny went out the first time.

Depends on how far in depth you wanna go. As Wayne had suggested, Karl Baumann is a genius when it comes to the Ford AOD/AODE/4R70W.

I was fortunate enough to talk to him and get all the information needed to do a correct rebuild for a stout transmission. Here is what we came to in the end. I went with Performance Automatics rebuild because I had access to the parts easily and he backed everything mentioned in the kit.
