I'm having issues bolting down my new trickflow valve covers. With the gasket and valve cover on and in place, the stock bolts won't reach the head to thread in, otherwords, they are too short. Has anyone else had this issue with the trickflow VCs? If so, how did you fix it?

How much longer though? I have no clue what length to get, and since these valve covers look nice I don't want to have too short of a bolt.

Yes the trickflow valve covers were maid to clear and fit on foxbody 1987-1993

In order to run the factory valve covers or trickflows esp with new heads, you need to run a run thicker double gaskets and longer threaded bolts, otherwise they wont clear, I had the same prob with my new motor in my sn95.

How much longer bolts did you get? I would love to get the ARPs, but it takes 2-3 weeks for shipping and I need these things by the end of the week.

local speed shop? they are pretty common parts to have laying around. worth a shot vs using some hardware store bolts

if you do try to piece it together make sure you don't bottom the bolts out as they are super brittle. i broke a stocker off in a aluminum head years ago. took me hours to get it out :(

Even though it was Ford racing valve covers, I had the same problem. Luckiley I have a 88 fox engine in the garage, I used the valve cover bolts from that engine. If I had a choice I would buy a set of studs. But if I was in a bind like you, fox ones would work if that would make them easier to find.

Used the stock bolts on my Ford racing valve covers and it seemed to work fine.
