Trouble Installing Distributor

i just got a reman dizzy and it won't clear my lower intake (witch is an edelbrock 3820) i need to know what to do......i can get it in and down but not able to put the dizzy in the right place PLEASE HELP!!!! :dontknow:

by getting it in the correct place for the timing it gose in one way and will not turn left or right it hits the lower intake

i wish i could take some pics carmra is broke but it is hitting the lower intake at the thermastat area

hmmm thats weird..never heard of that happening, you sure its set down in competley straight and not leaned just a lil bit?

i know that might sounded like a dumb question but i've seen people do that where the hold down pin and slid back in just a lil bit and when the put the dizzy down in the the block it made it lean back towards the intake a lil bit.

no the dizzy gose all the way in and straight the body of the dizzy hits the lower intake and prevents me from turning it left or right im going to see if i can get a pic off my phone

hmmm just went out and looked at mine my dizzy looks nothing like that at the bottom its small..you said it was just a stock reman??

yes and it look just like the old one i just pulled out i had notice that the old one is gronded down n that corner but is that way to do it or am i doing it all wrong im putting the reman back in the same way the old one came out

i looked at mine just now tired taking a pic but you couldn't really see but what i noticed is that, that corner thats hitting with the hole in it...on mine is in the front...not the back...like i said tried taking a pic but it didn't turn out right.

Grind it down with a dremel. Looks like you only need a couple MM's clearance or so.

OK update time iv got the dizzy in and in place....iv got the timed bout 12* and ideals a little high when settles down then wants to die out ne ideas.......haven't taken it down the road yet iv got to in stall the oil gauge
