Re: Trunk idea in play

looks good so far!

I wouldnt fill everything just with usual bondo on the trunk.. Just remove the bezel on the trunk and put some "car body glue". here in Germany there's a badass glue called "Sikaflex" - it just holds very strong and stuff.. I would glue almost everything under that bezel so it cant rattle anymore and sits straight. after then I would fill the gaps with bondo..

Too bad Dalmar is being a tool with the super secret way he did his. Or maybe he did it this way and is too embarrassed to admit it... I dunno.

WTF? nobody asked?
Tool...... LOLZ>>.>>

Filling that in looks way cleaner IMO.
on mine they didn't use bondo, it was some type of really hard resin type filler.
Don't recall the type but it's made to bond and blend metal/urathane parts, because yes urathane parts expand in the heat. the plate cup I doubt moves much, but say, sideskirts and bumper covers, yea, they're stay puff.

Nice job NASTY, I think it looks great!

Dangit nastytime... you son of a b. Everytime I see your car I want to paint mine flat black. Get some hps workin for me and then paint it like yours. I have to stop opening these pages or I am going to go in debt a few k's.
On another note, while I still had my shaker, I molded the applique onto the hood and the paint kept flaking off where it was molded on. The problem was never fixed, but I hope you have better luck than I did.

Re: Trunk idea in play

update was gonna work on the side scoops this weekend but Texas finally got a little cold front in, so i will have to wait till it warms up just a bit. Body filler and priming really don't work to well when its cold. Sometime this week i will get to working on those scoops.....Cant Wait.

Still have a good amount of work to do but i love it. Scoops have not been worked on yet due to fresh primer, hope to knock it out this week. Sorry for the night pics just wanna to let you guys see my madness......

i would say its more satin at times i guess, its a really nice dark black not like your typical "PRIMERBLACK" which looks light gray sometimes. Yeah if i had to put my car next to a true primer black car i think mine would look more Satin, even thought the paint is not satin...... confusing?

Back before I got my car painted (When I asked Dalamar about it to no avail lol) I asked my painter about it and he said he wouldn't do it cause it would eventually crack. Now I'm irritated that I didn't farce the issue and have him do it anyway...
