supercoupes are dangerous to drive at night.....the seats are so cozy zzzzzzzzzzzzz

did they come with different seats? the ones ive driven were hard as a rock.

The stock super coupe seats were stiff but supportive, so my back would never ache.

My first car was an A4LD Turbo Coupe. The transmission was toast 5 hours after I got my license lol. You need to throw a T-5 in there man, it's much more fun. Unfortunately these things aren't escalating in value quite yet. My '86 literally had over $10,000 invested and I got $2,500 for it. But I'd start in that area, it looks pretty clean and there ARE enthusiasts who will pay good money for them.

well this is an 88, regarded as the best year for the turbos... so im thinking ill sell it for 3000, and not a dime less.

And you may very well get it, but don't be too surpised if you don't. I was an enthusiast for these cars for many years and the value seems fair, but the last time I was into these was before the recession! lol

On a side note, I'm not sure what you were trying to say about the "turbos". The '87-'88 is undoubtedly the better car than the '83-'86 with automatic ride control, optional Premium fuel, hydraulic clutch, better flowing E6 manifold, top mount intercooler, and 4-wheel disk brakes. However, they use an "IHI" turbo made by Borg Warner (IIRC). It's small size allows the turbo to spool quickly but run out in the top end. They can handle 17-18psi safely. The advantage of the '83-'86 TC's were their Garrett T3 turbos. While they spooled slightly slower (and were only oil cooled in '83/'84), they did not run out near as bad in the top end and were safely capable of 22psi. If you don't have a boost valve yet, it is incredibly necessary. They're like $50 and take minutes to install. I got the "Stage II Kit"; with the flip of a switch I could change from max 11psi to max 22psi. www.boostvalve.comhttp:// I had an '87 and an '86.

haha I'm at work right now so I cant post a pic but I've got an 87 with 188,000 miles, stock motor and stock turbo out of my old 85, so Its got the Garret .60/.63 T3 with an SVO compressor housing so I could use the 87's stock top mount IC. Got a 3" thick Isuzu NPR intercooler and ford racing 42# injectors goin in it soon. Got about 18-19 psi running through her right now, after the NPR intercooler goes in I'm knocking it up to about 23psi :D Its a 5 speed too

I had the Volvo FMIC on mine. A guy had one on his SVO and picked up 18rwhp without cranking up the boost. Be careful though, the plastic reservoirs on each side are known to crack. Isuzu/Volvo trucks tend to run a little less than 23 psi haha.

I had a volvo intercooler too :D Those are the ones with the plastic end tanks. The NPR's are solid. They look like a giant radiator-no plastic. Thats why I got this one and sold my volvo IC. Keep the bird man. I daily drive mine. After I knock it up to about 23 psi its gonna be about 280-300rwhp and still getting 30+ mpg. Cant mess with that!! lol Trying to keep the miles of my mach so its not gonna go anywhere anytime soon.

Hell yeah man! I beat 2 new edge GTs, and I might've had 3,000 in the car AND performance mods.

yea I've got stingers's full 3" exhaust and 3" downpipe, k&n cone filter, boost controller, and thats about it lol Only thing I'm gonna do now is take a head i have thats already been milled and everything that I got for real cheap and get it ported and go with a bo-port cam and that should be it. Oh and a bob's log exhaust manifold.

These cars are the ultimate sleepers. Especially the 4 eyed birds like my 85.5. GOD it was ugly lol Some people would ask me what it was lol Didnt even know it was a ford!

For a long time I preferred the '83-'86 styling over the '87-'88. They reminded me more of muscle cars haha. With that kind of airflow and boost you might look into a 255lph fuel pump and Kirban AFPR. Also on the intake side -- a 65mm throttlebody isn't much for HP, but makes a world of difference for throttle response. If you find a cheap one, snatch it up. That was one of my favorite mods. You can also have the upper intake gutted and the lower knife-edged. I fully intend on having another someday. I'll rebuild it from the bottom end up, slap on a Holset, and throw as much boost and NOS as possible at it.

Damn tread jackers. Jk.

I meant that 88s are the best year for the car itself, not the turbochargers. If I were to keep it, I'd put a Garret turbo and a front mounted intercooler... Infact there was an article not to long ago in mmaff with a silver one, it was a hot car.

Well it's like this, as far as projects go... It's either my 65, or this...

65>>>>>this.

With the money I make from this, I can finish my 65 with some cash left over for to throw at my gt..
