Im looking at a kit from On 3 motorsports..They specialize in a kit for the 4.6. At 5 lbs of boost the numbers are at 330 horse, 375 ft lbs of torque at the rear wheels. I've researched, and I wouldnt run boost anymore than 8 lbs. They say at 10 lbs, your motor hits 440 whp and 496 ft lbs. Pretty impressive. The kit is 1700 bucks, has all the tubing bent, the turbo, intercooler, etc. I need little things here and there, but can pick them up as I go..Im still looking into it. I would probably run 6-7 lbs of boost. Ive never owned a car with more than 300 whp..haha, so Itd take some gettin' used to.
Do some more research dude...1700 bucks is the base, you will want to upgrade to the better turbo which will put you at 2k for the kit and you still will need injectors, fuel pump, spark plugs, MAF, and a sct tuner with a custom tune which will easily cost you another 1k, not to mention the fact that you will need to run a tubular k member and I thought you had to run tubular a arms and coil overs up front for it to fit.
So that "1700" kit jumps to something like 4k real quick.
Another thing you might want to know is that kit is made with weak metal and people have had it crack already.
At this point I wouldnt even bother turboing a 4.6 mustang unless you have like 6k to spend.
Just go with a vortech kit, cheap, easy, effective...on 8-9 psi with the cams and shit in your sig you could probably pull 400 rwhp.
For whatever reason it seems like the turbo 4.6 cars are blowing more often than the supercharged ones even though the blown cars are running more boost.
I would bet the tune is a lot more accurate with a blower car than a turbo car.
