new member and got a few questions.

what gears came in the majority of the gt's?

would a 4 valve work with the wiring harness that is in a 2 valve car?

would it be worth the expense and trouble of swapping out my 2 valve FOR A 4 v?

5-speed if I remember correctly you had either 2.73's or 3.27's. My '97 came with 3.27's. You'll need to decode the sticker on your doorjamb- it lists the axle code and you can use that to determine which. Or go by seat of the pants-

REALLY SLOW = 2.73
SLIGHTLY LESS SLOW = 3.27

As for 2V vs 4V, someone else will need to chime in on that, but you can make your 2V run better by a)starting with a full tune-up; b) PI intake/cams/heads (heads optional, you can just do cams) to really wake it up (I have PI intake, want to do cams); c) open up the exhaust. The factory midpipe is very, very restrictive.

There are several great stickys in the 4.6 tech forum on the PI stuff, search around for ideas on exhaust work.

you also could get 3.08s.

and the 2V wiring harness will work with a 4V. Just have to make sure you have a tune on it.

The 4 V runs better than the 2V, and has more potential.
but realistically, either one needs boost to push much over 300 HP.

the swap is involved, I'm not sure how many incodentals you'll need to mate up the two.
The 2V computer can be reprogrammed (i've heard) but the guy needs to know what he's doing.

What 4V motor are you looking at?
What is the power range you're shooting for?

and gears, if you stay NA, swap to 373's or 410's
