Ugh another tire question

Hey sorry for another topic regarding tire sizes but I was wondering whats the widest tire I could put on the stock GT rims as 97vertstang has on his? Any input here would be greatly appreciated. Thanks! :thumb:

It all depends on what you are going to do with the stang. If you auto - x or open road race, you may not want to get a tire that will bulge on the sides. If you are just going to cruise around town with it, then go as wide as will fit. I'd say 265 but I've heard 275's will fit also.

275-40-17's will fit front and back. I have seen 285-40-17's on the back also.

I wouldn't go any wider than 245 on an 8" wheel, your contact patch and tire wear will be terrible with a wider tire.
