Its been a while since i posted anything on any board. But, about 2 1/2 months ago some ignorant person in a Cadillac pushed me into a curb when i was in a right hand turning lane. That person ran, I called the cops had them do a report and all that good stuff. A month after I was hit, the car still wasnt fixed because of isurance people not wanting to send the check. About 2-3 weeks ago the car entered a friends paint shop but wouldnt be touched until a couple of cars got done. So a week ago i went in there and asked for a sander so i can start on it for them. Its comin along slow only becuase of me being a noob to the paint and body world and being that im 16. The car is goin to be painted Sonic Blue and should be done mid Jan.

What color moroon was that? It doesn't look like a ford color. A Sonic blue sn :santa_afro:

how long is the paint job going 2 take??, and how much cuz im going 2 be getting one soon and want to know how much and how long???

Well its really which shop you use, the shop im using is a personal friend's. Its just him and his business partner workin there with about 6 cars thta need to get done. But luckly my car is the second car in line. It should usually take about 2-4 weeks to get a good paint job done. But then again, I may be wrong.

You weild that sander pretty well :santa_afro: i know what its like. I painted my first car when I was 17. Good for you for doin it yourself. cant wait to see it when its done

Now is a perfect time to upgrade bumpers, hood, spoiler...shave some stuff, paint the mirrors, etc...

If ur getting a new paint job, why not some upgraded styling?

Progress looks good so far man, sonic blue is one of my favorite colors :santa_afro:

its gonna look nice blue, looked good b4 the accident to.....u should take some pics of that FD in the shop (rx7) looks sexy :santa_grin:

Yea thats kinda why i chose the color.

I got alot of work done today. I took out the side scoops, rear bumper, the pillar pieces, and gas door; this doesnt sound like much but in all out reality it was a pain in the .... to get the side scoops and pillar pieces off. But, i also sanded to the driver side rear quarter panel and got to use a new rotary sander that I got. Its a dual purpose sander and will cut through the paint pretty quick but also go through the green which i want to stay.

Well i would but that left the shop about 3 weeks ago, but it was sexy. It had twin turbos, SSR Wheels, a major drop, electric boost controler, suttle body kit with some killer lights, and some other odds and ends.

I kinda am, im goin to be shaving all the emblems off but thats about it. I was goin to do a cobra bumper but i already had GT foglights and got them for free.

Ill post some pictures later tonight.

sonic blue is killer on an sn!! Thats the color we painted our race car! If you want to get an idea of what your would look like when done, take a look at the Hellion build thread. You are doing a great job! Is your dads cobra the one that had the 3D snake in the grill?
