There has been something wrong with my T5 M/T tranny ever since I bought my Mustang. Now I fixed the other problems of the car, the one left is the tranny. I showed it to a garage and the guy took it for a spin and said the gears are busted. He recommends replacing the tranny.
He offered the used tranny he's selling for $750 which comes from a '95 stang. He's giving me guarantee on this. So the deal he offered is like this.
He will buy my broken tranny for $250 so I have to pay 500 for the tranny and service charges. I had a talk with him last night and he reduced price to about $375. I already bought a replacement clutch which will be going in this new (used) tranny.
Is this a good deal or I should attempt to fix it? The guy said fixing it would not guarantee a long lasting solution.
