Valley Girdle???

I hadn't heard of this before I saw them in the Jegs catalog I got in the mail today. I know I used a main cap girdle on my block even though I know it basically holds shit together when it blows ( and it will eventually). But the valley girldle actually goes in the lifter valley where the block usually splits. Any comments on this theory or anybody heard of anything good. I figured it would still split the block and would hold stuff in place like the main cap girdle. Anybody care to comment.

same as a main girdle. A main and a valley girdle together may save your crank, rods, and pistons but I wouldn't trust it to keep the block from coming apart. Other results may vary but I am just giving my OPINION.

Waste..

Like Ryclef said...it "might" help.

If your pushing power where your questioning block strength, time for an A4/R/Boss

It's like motor cement - it helps to a point but its not a miracle worker... money spent on a better block is the best way to do things.

have they been around for a while? I'm pretty current with research and what not. This was the first time I had seen them so I felt out of the loop. I figured it was the same as the main girdle. I figured it's worth a shot.

I have a main and a valley girdles... i dont know wow much it has helped me, but it will save some of the parts if the block goes away... I have made 602 RWHP for 2 years now and about 20 passes at the track and it is still holding... I have a 50 shot on it now but have not sprayed it yet... I'll spray it on the dyno and see IF it holds... I'm just looking for a reason to build this Dart block... My tuner (an I) want to see how far we can push it without splitting... We can't put more boost to it because of belt slip (pulley too small) so we are going to spray it... I have a 331 rotating assembly on the way for the Dart block...

I tend to think of a valley girdle as snake oil, but that is a lot of power to be making, especially with a belt. Have you been running it on slicks? Stick or automatic?

thats the (pardon my french) FUCK I'm talking about. Someone trying it out. PLEASE keep us posted on your results. I plan on pushing my stock block to roughly 550rwhp on spraying and seeing how long it lasts before it either blows or i build a new motor to go in.

I WILL WHOLE HEARTEDLY AGREE that it MAY NOT save a block but it COULD hold it together well enough to save the crank rods and pistons in it for future use. 600 horse is more than believable and admirable in my book. Obviously you knew the dangers involved going into it and i give you props for going for it anyway!

werd. I wish I had the cash to up my 200 shot. I'm on the verge of block splitting now though I would guess. Everytime I spray I hear my block squeal a little more. I would say I'm at about 500 hp with the 200 shot. Still holding. If I srpayed some more it'll come apart.

Ry - just keep going until it dies. A guy down in Tucson made 691 rwhp with his turbo car for over a year before the stock block finally split.

The car is a 5 speed with a TKO600... i run 315/35/17 MT drag radials and it has been mid 10's at 130+ mph on drag radials and my best in the car is a 10.33 at 133 on 28x15's MT ET streets... i run the same mph on drag radils and ET streets... the car is a FULL weight (including speaker box in the trunk, leather, cd, a/c, power everything), no cage or anything, if it holds on the 50 shot i think i'll put her in the 9's... I just want to see how far it will go...

The car is still in and out of the shop a lot... Just working out a lot of the little kinks mainly with the suspension... I still have a lot of little things that i want to do to the car that have been sitting in the garage for a long time... I cant even remember when was the last time i washed the car (I know, shame on me) but between the Cobra the GT, my motorcycles, 4 wheeler, house, work and G/F i have waaaayyyyyy too many projects... As soon as i have the car where i want it, i have a friend that does pro. photography and i will have some nice shots of everything, because i'm realy proud where the car is, compared to where it was... I have several vidoes of the car at the track that i want to post up, but i need to figure out a way to put it in the computer from the tapes that i have (It's like 1990 with this tape BS)... I'll keep everyone posted of how everything goes...
