Well, I have heard many say that it will be a pain but I just finished one of mine up and it's not really not that bad at all. Here is a couple of pic's, I'm quite pleased with how they turned out to be honest. I picked up this set from feebay for $27 so wasn't too concerned if I screwed them up. :laughing5:

I had to strip mine b/c of the Inspection. I kept the 3rd brake light Tinted. I'll get a pic.

it will last much much longer if you go over it with a good quality UV resistant clearcoat

Thats exactly what I'm going to do before they go on the car.

they look pretty dark. Your might want to plug them in to see if you can see the tails in the daylight.
I ended up making mine lighter by wet sanding by using some 1500-2000 sandpaper.

I hate to tell you this, but as soon as you put then on you will hate the 3rd brakelight and the side reflectors. The 3rd light is easy to do but the reflectors I recomend just buying some black ones on ebay.

yeah, 3rd bl is a must. The side markers I will do on the car. Once finished, I'll post up some pictures.

Looks good. I think our tail lights look 10000x better darker. Especially on a black or dark colored car like yours. Did you do the clear coat over them as well?

Also, what does your oval emblem on the trunk lid have written on it? (sorry, had to ask lol)

Ohhh. ok. lol

Once again, tails look good man. I might put clear on mine when I get around to doing them. I wasn't at first. Did you do any wet sanding?

Yeah, I first dry sanded everything with 400 grit to scuff the plastic just enough to grab the VHT. After One coat, I let dry and then wet sanded with 1400 grit and clay bar solution which didn't quite give me the shine I was looking for so I took it a step further. I applied rubbing compound and then hit them with an orbital polisher which did the trick. I then applied 2 coats of clear and buffed again.

Looks great, I would like to do it to mine but i don't think it would compliment my car's color. Where did you get ford emblem from?
