bent rear axle or loose rear end axle etc... can cause erratic vibes too. but definatily grab the shaft and shake it lol. you dont even need a jack to check lay on your get under your car as much as possible and grab the ds and rotate it. you can kind of guess at how much play is there. but quit driving it before something major happens. good luck miss K

The last 2 times I've had u-joint issues on the driveline, I could not feel any slop by hand. At all. Both were on my Dodge 2500, but I discounted u-joints because the driveshafts felt solid.

Take it to a good shop and see what they say. Some shops will look for free and if it cost alot of them to fix the problem bring it home and fix it your self.
