So I'am very interested in purchasing a vortech kit for my 95 cobra. It's already a h/c/i car with all the bolt-on's. When I get kit I'm going to due to normal 255-pump, 42lb injectors, probably water-meth injection. What i'm not sure is if should just run calibrated maf, msd boost-timing retard, fmu, and pms to get it tuned.. or should I take it to a reputable tuner and have them dyno tune it.... I'm leaning towards a dyno tune, but if i go that route what will i need or not need to get to have it tuned.

no need for fmu if you plan on a tune, wich is your best bet.

I'm definitely going the tuned route, just need the boost timing retard, and whatever my tuner recommends for ecu tuning. I'm probably gonna need to get a larger maf to accommodate the s/c on top of my h/c/i setup.. hoping for around 420hp to the wheels around 10psi

255lph pump and 42# will be fine. pro-m 80mm maf is what i have and it works great. depending on the HCI you have, 420 is very attainable goal. dyno tuning is a must. don't even both with a timing retard and FMU. they are bandaids for a fuel problem that won't exist if you go with bigger inj/pump and a good tune.

The pro-m maf gets calibrated for the injectors when you order it right? or is that something the tuner will take care of?

There is no need to calibrate the maf.. calibrated maf that try to go with out a tune. . All the calibration for the fuel injector will be done in the tune. . I like slot style maf my self. .
