i noticed the same noise difference with my SQ trim in the cold...a slightly louder whistle. I always take my car off around october time and dont put it back on the road until like april, but come the colder months I did notice a slight difference.

oo nice,
the vortech setup is definately a hell of a lot nicer, the tensioner setup is a lot better, no more blowing belts, no belt slip like I was gettin before, the bracket is 10X better, the procharger one with a fucking plate with holes in it.
Overall I like the setup so much better already, ill never go back to gaycharger.

all blowers have problems, whether it's exploding, blowing seals, etc... i wouldn't say one is much better than the other (V2 s-trim vs P1)
and before antway says im a procharger nutswinger or something, i own a vortech

I agree with you here....although I kinda agree with javi that it seems like the vortechs have been the most reliable and widely used.
It also seems like the actualy bracket/tensioner setup is a lot more though out and engineered far better than the procharger one.
I had an old ass p600 so I cant really hate on procharger for that...it was so old, I expected it to break but it sounded cool and made decent power.
I would go with vortech at this point purely because of my experiance with the procharger bracket and ripping belts like there was no tommarow untill I started running a second tensioner pulley.

I built my buddies bigbore 2v for him and he put his old P1 on it that had a about 5k miles on it. (Mostly track usage but a weekend DD) on the third pass, it exploded sending metal down the intake and into the valves and somehow cause catastrophic failure and he had broken the #1 piston in half. Now he's building a TT setup that's going to be pretty killer.
I don't like to debate which blowers are better than the others since it's individual experiences that we share and how many people actually go through enough blowers to compare them... If we have one and it blows up, we may switch to another and then complain about the first one but that one experience doesn't necessarily mean it holds true for everyone.
I bought the Vortech on mine cause I was being cheap and didn't want to spend the money for the Novi2k.

yeah i agree with mike. everyone will have personal experiences. most guys will side with whatever they own obviously...but as said i truly think vortechs are the most reliable out there. my cousin had a problem with his P1sc, so thats enough evidence for me to go the vortech route. I did, and 4 years later....here I am today still running the same old SQ

Thanks..we should be pretty close Except I have a stall and my cars probably a decent amount lighter....so if Im able to hook at all I should be good.
What did you run anyway?
I know you trapped like 118/119 or something right?
If I go it would most likely be during the week, wed. night or something.

gotcha...yea, Im sure the stock stall is holding you back a bunch.
Even if our cars were identical, the 3800 stall I have should be worth roughly 1/2 a second of ET if not more.
Besides the fact that my car tips the scales at 3100 lbs or so.
I was expecting something around 11.5 ish if I can hook....but you know how that goes...Ill probably be lucky to hit 11.99 lol
