Well i finally figured out what was wrong with my engine, two pairs of the retro fit roller lifters came apart and I had aluminum going through my engine. haven't got everything apart yet, but crank is going to need to be turned and need new lifters and a better luck :( havent got to look at the cam yet, but wont be surprised if its gouged too.

ya cam is a goner and now im switching back to a hydraulic flat tappet camshaft. I called CAT and they said they might replace them if I send them to them. So once again I'm rebuilding my engine! 347 stroker with a xe274 flat tappet cam, ported windsor sr heads, and a ported systemax intake 10:1 compression

a broken engine is just another reason to go bigger.

that sucks, hope my crane retro-fits dont do that.

ya the tech guys said they hadn't heard of that happening but because of cost I'm going back to the flat tappet. and its already a 347 so going bigger isn't really an option right now! I just want her to run!!! I am going with the smaller cam because of a lower rpm range when on the street. I also am getting the motor assembled by the machinist this time (even though I didnt do anything wrong the last time) so I'll know it will run well.

I have a non-roller 86 block. the shortblock was too good of deal to pass up and I didnt want to replace it with a roller block.
