water pump

my 96 cobra is in need of one and i was wanting to know if i should get an electric one or a mechanical one. also the car is mostly driven on the street with track visits 1-2 times per month.

I had an electric water pump on my 68GT 428CJ. It worked great for the track, because you could circulate the coolant with the car off. But at that time it was a track only car. When I had the electric motor hooked up to my street car, it would overheat in traffic.

I don't think it had the flow for street use. At that time it was in the same car, but with a 289.

totally true!

i just bought my water pump from a Parts ditribuition center for FORD dealers, it cost me $55 + 8 for shipping since they dont carry Motorsports here.

but compared to the auto parts store they want $75+
