Don't forget the easy one:

For all you SN95 convertible guys, there is a ballast weight bolted to the inner right fender used to dampen cowl shake. It literally says "Caution 25 lbs" on it. Watch out and don't almost drop it on your head when you remove it. It REALLY weighs 25 pounds!

Paul.

do you notice ANYTHING at all when you remove the weight?
i do drive it on the freeway 70-80 mph.

Re: Weight Reduction List (Sticky Me)

I just spent the weekend gutting my 95 5.0. I got a heat gun and scrapped the sound deadening out from under the carpet. That stuff is like tar and not the easiest to get up, (understatement of the century). After scrapping for the better part of the day, the heat got to me and my blistered hands couldnt take anymore...

I got the tar up from the tranny tunnel and under the rear seats. The chunks of tar weighed in a garbage bag at a whopping 11.5lbs. I'm sure more can be scrapped up if i had the deadication. i was just impressed by the the weight of that crap. There HAS to be an easier why to do it.

Wow. LOL.

You should have searched it, a million and three people have done this before.

Dry ice. It is sound deadener's worst enemy :)

Quad shocks can be yanked with little to no issue. Aftermarket control arms help but I've seen them done with out.

Re: Weight Reduction List (Sticky Me)

take off your inner fender liner on the pass side and lay by that fog light, look u.,
It is about a foot long and probably 5 inches in diameter, you seriously can't miss it.

I took mine off 8 years ago and left the fender liner on. Would've been MUCH easier
with it off, though.
