Okay so i went to the track today to finally get some runs with my supercharger on but i never made a pass when i started doing my burnout i felt my motor missing firing, so i pulled to the parking lot and checked everything wires to injectors connectors everything was fine so i started pulling sparks plugs and one spark plug was shut like the piston hit it cuz the electrode was bend down all the way, so i was like wtf!! so i bend it back put the spark plug in and the car ran fine all the way home no miss fire.. so i got to town went on the back roads close to my house to do some runs just in case something goes wrong so i took off in first and right away my car starts shaking and missing firing so i slowed down but this time the miss firing went away so the next time i took off in second and when i got to 4800rpms it started miss firing but not as bad so my last run was in third gear and it pulled like a champ to redline and then fourth gear till redline and no miss fire no nothing so again i was like wtf!! so then again i took off in first gear miss fire again and then it fixed it self... so i got two issues what made the spark get bend and why does it only missfire on first and second gear, the plugs i run right now with the blower are autolite copper plugs , and a/f on all the runs were at 11.5 so im going to try to switch plugs for some ngks and see what happens, if anybody got any ideas whats going on please chime in, my mods are paxton blower 262 compcams headers x pipe catback t/b plenum 42lb injectors svt focus pump 373 gears, and the plugs and wires are new

im going to try that but i was looking at other forums and this person had the same well close to the same problem and he said that autolites ngk copper and motorcraft plugs are call extended reach plugs that means that there 3mm longer than standard plug and there meant for better combustion, and that it is common on these cars to have this problem and sometimes if the piston hits hit hard enough it shoot out the plug, so what plugs do you guys think are shorter that i can get?

Ok, first of all, Look at that same spark plug after it started missing the second time, and see if it was damaged again. Next do you know 100% that the particular plug was not damaged prior to your discovery of it(tonight)? Also when you said it started missing did the check engine light ever come on?

As far as the misfire itself I would look for a leak (if it was an na car) after the mass air flow sensor just to make sure that its not a possibility. With your set up im going to assume your using a blow through. Reguardless, LOOK and make sure there arent any leaks, your car will pull hard in first and second and that could put a little extra stress on it and just cause it to open up a hair and theres your issue *POSSIBLEY*

Check this stuff out and then we will take it to the next step with some more info.

Just a side note, try to gather your thoughts in to paragraphys its much easier to follow and read

The spark plug wasent damaged for a fact prior to the track they probably have less than 1000 miles on them and the check engine light didn't come on when it was miss firing because it would miss fire for like 5 seconds and then go away, there's no leak after the maf I checked that also at the track.
Have you heard anything bout spark plugs being to long and causing that problem of them being bend shut

I personally havent BUT if it was the spark plugs then, why would it only happen on one cylinder out of 8 and only ONE time... I think something else is going on. How many miles are on the car, any recent mods (cams? heads?)

This problem is more prevalent on the Mod motors w/ the Windsor heads '99-'01. I read an artical on it but, I can't for the life of me remember where it was. Search time.....
