Like the title says, some friends from work got together and went down to the strip. First time I've ever had the car at the track. It was pretty fun, but a little disappointed in the times (I know, I know, everyone says that that lol). ET ranged from 15.69 up to 16.26....60 foots were from 2.37 - 2.68....not good....this is all with a stock engine, and street tires with 35 psi.....(I know I should have let air out)...

Thats good you had fun. Are you looking to better your times or were you just looking for something new to try? Airing out the street tires wont do do much b/c street tires just suck at the track no matter what.

yeah and besides that 35psi might be a lil overinflated anyways. Just work on getting your 60' down and you'll be amazed how fast the ET drops.

Yea its mostly to have fun, but since it was the last test and tune of the season, I'm planning on finding some cheap 15" rims and get some slicks. Contemplating drag radials or straight slicks.....I don't mind changing the tires at the track so I'm leaning more towards slicks.....depends on how much they cost i guess....

BTW, I have always put my tires at 35 psi, I'm pretty sure that is what it says on the door tag, and I think the tires are around the same....tires are 245/45ZR17's

26X8.5 MT Drag slicks would be a good choice and will fit good on a 15" rim. Dont remember the price on them exactly but they have them on summit.

Oh rag away....lol. Pretty sure the first one was the best because I was a little more nervous and didn't floor it out of the gate, thus spinning less.....

if its something that you want to take more seriously and want to invest more time and money into then learn to drive and launch the car at the track better before you start throwing $$$ at it with mods. its a good move going with tires but often the two biggest things that will drop times are traction and practice. And practice is only the cost of admission.
