What are these holes for?

There are two holes in the underside of the hood. Are they drainage? Should they be plugged?

I assume they’re for water and yes they should be plugged.

Should they be plugged, or should they be open to allow drainage from between the hood layers?


I don’t know either way, just thinking out loud.

I can't say I remember them on my stock hood. looks like a spot for water to drain out to me but if there were grommets in there at one point you should be able to see if you look around the edges close.

Of course my 01 is missing those grommets… anyway I have an old pic from my gray 02 gt with them. If you zoom in you can see the grommets.
