Why would you. The stock cam is fairly decent besides not having "lope."

I thought a steeda #19 was specifically made for 94-95 cars.... I dunno


Edit- just saw you had a cobra. Still drivability issues are almost certain with these cars with most cams.

You usually don't just cam a car? Most builds are done with cams always being one of the last parts decided on, you need to couple your cam with a build and a build with a cam.

I know an E303 will get you about 260 to the wheels with an exhaust, and assuming everything is healthy and working.

Thought about that E cam cause I know alot of GT guys do it with a GT40 build, which in term is pretty much a cobra motor or a little better. So yeah I guess that would work.

I like the comp xe264hr with .544 lift on 1.7 rockers with a 112 degree lobe separation 108 degree intake centerline 212 intake duration at 50 thousands and 218 exhaust duration at 50 thousands idk if it work with stock springs but made 281 hp and 309 tq on my gt40 set up

I have also been told E303, but the cost isn't worth doing a cam alone. At least add new heads to go with the cam to make the tearing apart worth the while.

the gt40 heads are good and all but me personally if I am going to take them off to do a cam I would probably do some new heads as well. Depends on what you want to spend and what your goals are for the car.

Yeah.... Heads don't come off for a cam on a pushrod ford.... Well, windsors at least.

I'm with rich, go with an e303, check your valve lash just in case, normally it's dead on after swapping from a ford cam to a ford cam.... And you shouldn't have to do valvesprings unless you experience valve float.



And... If I remember correctly, the cobras came with the full roller crane cams silver rockers, that were specifically made for ford.... IMHO id leave those in there. If you gotta adjust valve lash (unlikely) you can order a shim kit from crane.

thanks for the input guys. i was planning on getting long tubes,373 gear, cold air mass air and every other bolt on possible

OP, do yourself a HUGE favor. DONT buy any FMS cams... ever. Also understand that you will NEED a new set of springs. If you are interested in doing your build right, send me a PM. I will point you in the direction of the CORRECT parts for your build. If you take my suggestions, I can personally guarantee that you will make 275+ at the wheels after a tune.

If i was going to swap cam I'd go ahead and get some port done to the heads and intake.. Spring upgrade is never a bad idea.. Id reuse the rockers and lifters.. Id would also use something different than a letter cam like a 2031.. Get some harden push rods and oil pump drive shaft..
