What can a T5 handle?

Is it worth building a T5? When 'built' can they handle around 500whp? Anyone know of any good builders out there? Or am I just wasting my time?

i dont know any one.

look on Astro performance, they have great deals on transmissions.

You can build a T5 to be strong but by the time you get done spending the money, you could have a used 3550 or a TKO 500.

The thing with T5's too is even if you build the internals up, the case is only going to take so much.

But a well built t5 can take a serious pounding. This is a video of a local guy at the track. He uses an astro a5 and beats the hell out of it every weekend and absolutely loves it. I'm not sure how many hundereds of passes he's made with it but he keeps a log. I just don't know that exact number so I'm not going to guess....but yes it has proved itself with his combo.

Oh they will take alot, no doubt. I have a few buddies that have GForce T5's.

My only worry would be that the case is no where near as strong as a 3550/TKO/TKO 500/TKO 600

How do you guys only do 1/8 mile tracks. That would drive me nuts.

You're right about the t5 case....

and yes the closest 1/4 mile track is about 3hrs away from me :angry7: :BangHead:

Oh okay. I just trying to get my tranny plans, since I've already got my engine plans. So pretty much in the long run, it's just more efficient to go ahead and get a TKO trans? Of the ones out there, which is the best bang for your buck?
