I have my interior gutted while I am adding some sound damping and running my dual 0 awg power wire for the dual battery install. While it is all out I want to pull the headliner to give it a custom touch. If you have seen my interior I had some custom shift/brake boot and a consol cover made to match the paint I put in the dash.

This was all done as I have plans to put some black stripes on the outside when I get to the paint(last piece). While I have the interior out I would like to pull the headliner to add the same custom touch to it. I went to the fabric store today and picked up some black microfiber(look-alike alancantra) and dropped it and the green vinyl that I had left at a trim shop to have them sew the vinyl into the microfiber. I have considered the option of adding a raised logo detail to the headliner and been wondering what/if to do. I could just make the stripes on the outside raised on the liner, the cursive GT logo or the pony logo for a few ideas. Any other ideas would be considered and would love to hear them.

Dang Scott. This is a hard choice because I know anything you do will be made to look flawless. You don't do anything gaudy or over the top, just enough that when you let it catch your eye it takes one's breath away :)

I say any one of those would be fine. Leaning towards the pony though (of course the hardest one probably :)

YUP! The clock shit out on me anyway and the alpine has a clock in it, and then I happen to come across this remote system for a good deal that fit in it perfectly. The mustang gods made it so imo......

I'm all for something different as far as materials. Maybe some suede or a subtle pattern. But not into the West Coast Customs crap. Hard thing to get right, because if you don't, you'll be doing it again when it goes out of style. Or is no longer the fad.

I say just redo it to match the interior and do some performance or handling stuff. Just an opinion of course.

I have to disagreee with Rich here because of how tasteful Scott's modifications are.

And I also have a radar detector in my clock pod ;p

What's that? New edges don't come with clock pods? I made it have one haha.

i would go with the pony logo personally. while i agree with Rich that you dont want to go over the top with it, i think the pony logo, depending on size of course, would be a tasteful addition to the interior. just dont go crazy with how big it is or add any crazy wild colors and it will look great IMO

I was under the impression it would be something under the material to make it look raised, something hard to notice if not pointed out.

all I would be doing is cutting some foam, guing that to the board before I went over it with the black/green material. The green is just a 1" stripe down the middle. The design/logo would just be a slightly raised section. My thought is that if someone sat down and then happened to look up, first they would see the stripe/microsuede and only then if its done right would then notice the raised design. Now that I think about it if I am going to go overboard on some part of my car the headliner would be the place since not many would see it.

Recently I thought about raising the stripes, and then cutting out the mustang GT logo the same way in the rear bumper, just behind the visors.

i say leave it alone. if anything get a roof mounted console like on the later new edges. i very rarely see a headliner that didn't look tacky.

I ask because I integrated an explorer consol into my ranger which obviously was an easy thing to do. I like the compass/temp gauge and would like to hack the temp gauge to show both my amps temp and the outside temp like my truck does. If there is a consol that is made to go up there it would obviously be alot easier.

I think the stripe looks sick as fuck! But I think something on the headliner would make it really "busy".
