just take the entire motor and drop it in.

I'm gonna take a wild guess here and assume that if his wife's cousin is swapping out the engine in his 99GT it's likely the engine is not in running condition! but I would ask for the entire engine if I were him and he would probably have a nice engine he could rebuild as he currently still drives his car

If it's free, grab it. The bearings are easy to replace and getting the crankshaft turned should not cost much. How many miles are on the motor? If it has allot, your best off to do rings and the oil pump and timing chains while you have it apart. If it has low miles on it then just get the crank turned and throw some bearings int and roll wit it.....

you need the heads/intake, head bolts (most people reuse them up to you), all gaskets, timing chains tensioners and guides, oil, coolant, PI coolant tube, PI alternator bracket.... cant think of anything else, but if you're pulling heads might as well do some shorty headers atleast....

water pump nipple i think is OK since you have a 98....

if you're getting the parts for free i'd send them to Nick @ modularheadshop and have them worked.
