I like that car alot! I would seriously consider dropping the $100k + to own one if i had a brain injury.

or you could build your own for a bout $40k. my dads building one with a supercharged 481 big block stroker with full suspension for less than $50k.

Yup, they have been in deep doodoo for awhile. Large deposits were taken and cars not delivered. Sounds like they may be out of business for a while.

my dad and his father had many cars. but he said one car that sticks out besides theone that put him in a body cast was a torino with a 429 cobra jet. he said it scared the crap outta him. and he said when he was out the body cast my grandfather sold it for a plymouth. between him, grandpop and my uncle theyve had too many cars. way too many.

The 289 Falcon Sprint package was pretty nice in 64-65...I don't remember if they used the 302 later..


I think I'll go with a '69 428 CobraJet!!! Lots I could do with that! Or the SOHC 427 version...

If this is the same Falcon I am thinking of it has a slightly storied recent past. The original American owner couldn't afford a toy anymore and sold the car to a company in California that claimed they would finish the little tweaks it needed and it would be rented to movie studios for films. Several months later it was up for sale somewhere, can't remember where. Then it went to an auction in Vegas. It didn't meet the reserve. Last I heard it was in some museum of cars that could probably be bought. This car could be the same. From what I know of it (the owner is a member of a club I am also a member of) it is a good car, just some people getting greedy on the price.

While stripping my car down for blasting I did hesitate in thought about what I am doing with this car. To restore it back to original would still make it a great car, but I would be thinking I still could have had my dreamcar, so I am going on with the project.

It has to be the same one. I read the placard at the museum and recall something about it being in movies. It has been quite heavily modified. Very nice piece although could have used some detailing under the hood. It is for sale as are most cars there, mostly for very reasonable prices. The two guys there tried to get me to listen to their pitch about buying something. No thanks. I always wished that Ford had marketed the Australian Falcons over here. Have fun with yours. As far as favorite muscle cars go, I have always liked the early '60's GM bubble top cars. Here's a shot the '61 Pontiac at the museum. It was a big block with a tri-power set up. Gorgeous car. I saw the Eleanor car there too. Nicely done but I'm not a fan of those things. Loved the movie, but not real nuts about the cars. Crappy color.

I had a ball with it before I started tearing it apart. It's going to turn heads even moreso after I am done with it.

Nice Pontiac. My Dad had a 1962 Pontiac Catlina convertible. It was his first new car, the car he picked up my Mom in, and I remember that car from when I was little. His next car was a 1970 Malibu.....absolutely base model with 3 on the tree and the carpet pattern molded rubber floor mat. Ah, memories........

One one hand, I like the small-block "underdogs" that capably gave the big-block boys fits- check out this 1970 Olds Cutlass Rallye 350. Scared the big-inch guys all day long...

On the other, I love my Hurst/Olds's too, regardless of year (yes I even like the 83/84 cars). This '69 was the car that finally broke the GM A-bodies free from the 400 ci displacement limit- the 455's were not installed at the Olds plant but on the outside (forget the name of the company that did it, might have been Hurst himself). The rear spoiler was originally supposed to be electronically adjustable but it was too complex/expensive to go to production.

After that, you guys pretty much listed the rest of my dream list haha

I used to have a 68 Roadrunner, 383 4 speed stripper. Bench seat, manul drums, that would keep your attention, lol. I loved it, but I love the way the 1970 SuperBee look's even more.

After 1965 the Falcon was only available with a inline 6, until 1970 they made a few with 351C and with 429's.
