What should I have made?

Aluminum. I didn't make them - a buddy of mine did. He did it on a manual lathe with a DRO on it. He eventually got them all made after a couple of them decided to liberate themselves from the lathe and embed themselves in the wall. I was astounded by the quality.

im still undecided on making my own on our lathe, or having my friend cnc some that say 4.6 SOHC or something along those lines. which ever route i take i am going to use a high grade aluminum. im a big fan of custom.

I machined a set of billet aluminum speaker grills for my wife's '66, among a myriad of other things. They get a lot of compliments and people want to know where to get them. We tell them they are the only set in the world.......because they are. Maybe something along that line?
