Is there a special bolt to bolt down the tensioner? I don't have the bolt and I looked at tensioner bolt from a 92 5.0 and it is to big. If I do get the right size bolt, I don't think the head of the bolt will clear the pulley because it will be so close. What bolt do I need to use?

I think it uses a hex like an allen wrench, that or one of those star tool things. I'd have to go look at mine to confirm.

its a torx bolt.. not sure on size. it sits in and the top of the bolt sits flush with the rest of the tensioner so the pulley will clear... doubt you can find a replacement from a hardware store..

I looked at the hardware store and didn't find anything. What other ford engines will have this bolt?

I made a stripper bolt at work for mine. The only thing I could think of is to get the size and order it online which will be expensive since you have to pay for shipping but hey, when ya need it, ya need it.

EDIT: this is a stripper bolt, for anyone that doesn't know (many people don't)

Pretty sure any 5.0 from a foxbody, explorer, and sn95 will have the same bolt but i definitely couls be wrong because ford liked to change a bunch of little things..

Do you know where I can buy a bolt like that? I was looking at Home Depot and Autozone didn't see any bolts like that. I called Ford and the bolt is not available. The parts guy was able to give me the size of that bolt. The thread pitch is 3/8 x 16 and the length is 2.90
