What size tires will fit

im getting new tires but i cant afford slicks or radials right now so im wondering whats the widest tire i can get on the 17'' stock wheels on the 96 i have 245/45/17 on right now but i was told i can get wider and what is the best tire to get

+1 I'd like to know as well. I've heard of people putting on 255's and maybe even 275's but I'm not sure?

on my stock 96 GT wheels, it came with 275/40ZR17 all around and it looks completely fine, but anything bigger will give you that stretched look.

Do the fronts rub at all when turning the wheel all the way? I could def. use some wider tires in the back..

Going smaller give you the streched look.. and going larger gives you the bulge..

my bad thats what i meant :wall:

and no they do not rub at all. my current setup is 275/35ZR18 Fronts & 295/30ZR18 Rears and its awesome.

that dont help me much cause mine are 17's not 18's i just want to know how big i can on them

u can run a 275/44/17 without any issues o the back.

275/40/17 in the rear is about as wide as you want to go on a stock width wheel.
