um i would buy that car since they used 4 cylinders until 94 then they put 6 cylinders in them...so maybe the cars super rare :hammer:
im just messing i believe you can get away with about any of them ...the prefered is the 88 turbo coupes for the gear ratios...now that im thinking the 4 cylinders have a different length on the imput shaft and i dont think they will work

For a 94/95 car you have to use a 94/95 transmission OR a fox transmission with a 94/95 specific input shaft.

They're the same trans minus the longer input shaft for the SN95s.

V6's used the same T5 through the end of the SN bodystyle, so any 94-95 V8 T5, or any 94-04 V6 T5. Using a 96-up T5 would probably require a speedcal though.

T-45? I wouldn't trust any tranny out of a 4 banger car, just personal preference... they may be made the same exact way, or they may not be, but either way i would find a specific '94/'95 T5 tranny.

any t5 will work but as said fox bodies have a different input shaft so will need to reuse yours from the 94-95. Also if you get one for a 96 or newer t5 you'll need your tailhousing and speedo so you can use your speed sensor.

If you can use a wrench you can do a shifter change. I LOVE my Tri-Ax shifter. The input shaft is suppossedly easy but I've never done one personally.

No, T5, not T45, and not out of a 4 banger. The V6 uses the T5, even right now in 08.

The T5 you have stock is a "World Class" it has some upgraded part's over the original T5. The fourbanger, will have the original T5, along with a 2.98 first.

you should be able to score the correct trans easily enough really. Hell, a rebuild should only run you about 300 locally.

Are you capable, and able of pulling yours to have it rebuilt though? I mean, if it's not your only car, do that, and have the trans that belongs in there.

Dropping a tranny is fairly easy, just can be time consuming if you don't have enough help... we've dropped and replaced 2 tranny's in my driveway over the last 8 months, swapped a blown T5 in my car for a new one, and a blown T5 in my buddies Cobra for a TKO600... it's pretty straight forward and if you don't have longtubes, pretty easy.

Longtubes don't make it impossible, just a little harder. And if you've got a lift and a bud and you both know what you're doing you can do the swap in a few hours.

A friend and I did a trans swap in a hurry on my old 91 GT when I went to sell it and needed to put the stock T5 back in and get my 3550 out of there. Took us about 1 and a half hours on a lift working quickly.

the input shaft isn't that involved as its the very first thing going into the internals of your tranny. It does however called for your to pull off the shifter, tailhousing, and cover, all which if you don't know what your doing could be a chore. If your decent with a wrench go buy a book and then download the exploded diagram. I'llsee if I have a link. If you can pull the tranny from the car then you can swap the input shaft.
