What's going on with my car?

When I start the car, the oil meter gauge goes crazy, the RPM goes nuts going up and down, even if I step on the gas it doesn't feel like a normal response, it's got too weak. The picture is of the car right after I switched it on.
The heat gauge normally stays to the left but now it moves to the middle. The lights keep flickering.

The airbag, heat, and check engine have always been there, all Mustangs in my country have them because the previous owners remove the exhaust components and some other things I don't know about.

I want to know what is wrong here, many people are saying the ECU!

i would take it to a mechanic that can read the error codes from the ecu.. if you have a handheld tuner that can read trouble codes, use it. otherwise just take it to a mechanic and have some help figuring it out.

Is there a guide somewhere to read teh ECU codes? I've read about paper clip or wire code reading, but can't see a tutorial to actually do it.

the obd1 (5.0's) cars have the test ports under the hood by the r/h shock tower. both test ports should be covered by a single cap.

The small one is there, but not the big one, I think the last owner or before him cut it off

That would be bad.
If just the wire ends are there you might be able to rig something up. I think there is 4-5 wires going to the big connector. If you can find those we will be able to tell you the wire colors that need to be connected together to get the CEL to flash to read your codes.

Doesn't sound too good at all. Have you tried disconnecting the battery's negative terminal, hit the brakes a few times, wait 3-5 minutes, re-connect battery? Can't hurt to try that. That sucks about the OBD/ecu test port. :angry7:

Also, change the oil and oil filter immediately.

I took it to Ford Services today, the dealers here, to let them have a look.

Ford services people say the wiring is really in bad shape, maybe a wire moved from somewhere and that happened, now it's fixed but I need to get a new wiring done. I will get the detailed report for all repairs or replacements needed for the car tomorrow. I want to really know what they mean by wiring? The harness? The ECU wires? What exactly?
They also said they don't have the replacement part, I asked if I can bring and they will fix, they said they can't if the part doesn't come from them!! That's frustrating because I really don't trust anyone else but the dealers! And I'm not really good with fixing cars!
