The decent brand name nitrous systems are basically the same. Nitrous Express, NOS, Zex...

If you get gears they will always be in there and no pushing buttons to get that speed. That's why I would stick with gears.

Nitrous gets expensive if you really want to do it right. My Zex system and everything with it ran me just over a grand.

You got ripped off.

Nx also known as nitrous express is what i recomend. Get a universal v8 kit with a 10lb bottle, wot switch, window switch, bottle heater, and purge. Even if you buy everything BRAND NEW it shouldnt be over $800-$900. Each fill is good for about ten, 10 sec sprays. Trust me, from a guy who has had cars with 2.73, 308, 3.55, 3.73, and 4.10 gears. Nothing pulls like a 100 shot of nitrous! And if you install it right, it wont hurt your motor at all.

It's more than that.

I actually got some deals.

Got the whole kit + purge kit and blow down tube for $500 flat when it retails for $760 + tax for all that.

Window switch = $175.
Bottle warmer = $100.
Remote turn on = $180.
Pressure gauge = $100.

I paid $1055 for everything I have. Retail is $1205 + tax for all that.

Don't think I got ripped off.

Gears are alot cheaper.

Like I said, you over payed. Plus a remote opener is not needed by any means. Im just trying to let the guy know nitrous is a much better buy compared to gears. I guess if he gets the gears and still gets whomped on by a little evo or bolt on hatch back civic he'll want some spray.

You're leaving out the fact that you're having to pay to refill that bottle all the time too. I'm not a fan of nitrous, not because it's dangerous or expensive, but that's just one more thing I have to pay for each time I want to have fun with my car.

My vote is for gears. I have 4.10s in my 95 5-speed and wouldn't have it any other way. Gas mileage does go down but it's not enough of a difference for me to care. 3.73s or 4.10s, either way, for around $5-600, you can't really beat the seat of the pants difference.

Is the car a 5 speed or automatic ? How much do you want to spend ? car is factory rated at 215 HP , what is your HP goal ?

The car is a 5 speed. For now i have about 500$ to spend but i can save up for a little more... and would like to achieve around 300 hp.

jajaja now lets not get into a fight about which is better :boxing: no one has nitrous over here in my city and the downside is there aren't really good places to use it here, we dint have long highways or nothing similar nor do we have drag strips... just like 4 or 5 times a year a long avenue is closed and that's were the legal races are done.... so i would love to have the nitrous but its a big investment for something i wouldn't use to often... so I think i need something mostly for the street and casual 1/4 mile..

I would like to prepare a fast stang to beat mostly the V8 category over here... competing with Evos and Subaru's is out of the picture for know because those cars over here are the Japanese spec not U.S. spec so there way much faster than the ones u see over there....

Anyway i haven't even been able to find a nitrous provider over here so i think the gears would be the best choice and maybe in the long run nitrous or blower/turbo...

So I guess 4.10s would be the best choice for me... right??

Just to let you know... for the nitrous setup I have invested in new plugs specifically for nitrous and a 255lph fuel pump. That also adds to the cost. There is a lot of risk management included with nitrous.

Go ahead and stick it on your stock pushrod, but after about 10 sprays your living on borrowed time.

Hardly a bucket, most people simply dont know how to get the weight down on SN's. But this sissy would gladly dog out that FULLY BUILT hatch in your sig. Just dont feel bad when you get beat by a stock block, bolt on+spray sn95. lol

All the popular nitrous kits are good. I use a nitrous express wet kit in my 95 cobra. and if you dont have the timeing advanced
than you can just install it and start spraying. a 100 shot will keep you smileing.

I am currently aiming at the 300 hp mark naturaly asperated but with heads, cam, roller rockers, intake and exhaust I am well over teh $500 mark..... Sounds like you will need to start slow like I did. Start simple and get things ready for the big mods. Get an better CAI, maybe a cobra or trackheat intake and then work on the exhaust. During this time you will probably get a better feel for what it costs to go fast as $500 will not get you anywhere near 300 but it can be a nice start to what will one day be a killer mustang.

It was more of a joke. You have a 4 bolt main block stroker, some big ass heads, and a big ass blower. But if you were on a stock block id be down.

my stock block went 126 mph so you would have still had some catching up to do :p

Since his car IS a 5 speed, what about a nice aftermarket shifter to go with the gear swap? Gears won't help much if you can't get it in gear :tard: Plus a nice shifter makes rowing through the gears much more enjoyable....
