Generally guns go bang for your buck

 what???

It's a joke. You want something that goes bang, for your dollar. A gun does that, much better then anything else.

I'll second on the gears. 3.73s for a 5 speed

go with the 4.10s. if you ever make changes and need less gear in the future you can just use a 28" tall tire. that will make them the same as 3.73s

3:73's, tri-ax shifter. you'll like it.

/Thread.

This is just another thread for King cobra to flaunt his average "super mustang's" light speed. Just like any other thread he has posted in.

Sometimes i just hate that we don't have anything down here... no dynoshops in my city and never heard of any throughout the country... all tune-ups are just made with the eye and on the streets (sorry if my translation is funny) I've seen friends change their turbos all the time without dynos but i don't know if there really getting the best out of their cars...

there are a few mechanics who are good in the performance section but its kind of hard to really trust them in what they are doing when i don't know that much about mechanics. I think ill just keep going with all the bolt-ons i can get for my 5.0 and then start thinking about some more serious mods. I'm going with the 3.73s then and the shifter.

to the original poster. I know it's not cheap, but in this case, since you are in bolivia i say get forced induction. a turbo from any truck WILL wake up your ride. Especially since most cities in bolivia are at high elevation. you won't regret it at ALL. absolutely NOTHING will touch you

He is right about the altitude... where i live we are at 2558 meters over sea level ( i don't know how many feet is that)... now about installing any kind of trucks turbo i don't think its that easy... first i haven't heard about an good turbo brand for mustangs and the install of a turbo involves many things like forging engine and other stuff i think. Now superchargers seem more easy but are really expensive... like i said before first ill get boltons like the gears and other stuff then later on forced induction.

nice comment without knowing a single drop of geography and/or forced induction. forced induction cars perform better than anything else in high altitude.

You can get a lot of boltons and gears aswell, but you will still get spanked by the turbo fiats that weight absolutely nothing and breathe a LOT better. at 8,000+ feet elevation your naturally aspirated mustang will feel like a pig.

also in latin american countries you can find turbos from trucks for cheaper. you would need someone to custom fabricate the piping for you tough. its your choice, but remember what i told you when you see those featherweight 4 cylinders leaving you behind

Throwing on a junkyard turbo isn't a bolt-on and go thing. It'd require so much custom fab work to make it work and some turbo off a diesel isn't going to perform like it should on a Mustang. Plus, he'd need a dynotune to get his computer ok with the added air and he's already said there aren't any local shops to him.

yeah the truth is maybe a long time or never jeje if my stang gets to the level of 4 banger evos or subarus but i still have a chance against other V8s... Ive been looking a this On3performance turbos but looks like everyone is disappointed with them... well I'm just going to think well what i will do to my car and see how i will spend my money wisely... this thread started out as bang for the buck and now i don't know what to really do..

hot rodding is much more common in latin america. in the us people just have a much easier time with all the aftermaket companies, but in other countries peoplle just make shit work with what they have.

Even here, in the us, i got a friend that was running a 347 turbo with 6psi of boost and no tune. Stock block with stock forged pistons, he even made all the piping for the turbo. it was a mid 11 car on drag radials. its jsut a fact of life that old school people know a lot more than just bolting stuff on. they got experience which is something we are seeing less often in here.

Relax Justi88....don't get so confused, start slow & do what seems logical to you & is within your budget. Gears make the most sense for your original request seems to me... the ratio is not bad either one you choose! It is the most popular choice for a first major mod that I see. Really makes the car feel different in a great way! Good luck & glad you are enjoying our hobby! Keep us posted please on your progress.
