Just depends on who's head you're turning. Anytime I hear a nice exhaust going by, I have to immediately look and see what's making it. I notice a lot of people checking out my SRT when I drive by but I'm pretty sure its due to the loud BOV, flashy flashy paint, and the painted wheels. I used to get a lot more compliments in my Mustang when I'd stop at gas stations and what not and people who knew cars would come up and ask what I had done to it and all this from hearing it. The 67 gets looks no matter where it goes. Old school, flashy rims, orange, people notice it.

The Mustang was built as a muscle car with a more rugged look. Most aftermarket for them does stick to that theme so it's a little difficult to get the sporty race look to it like you say.

The stripes on my Mustang provide a lot of attention from the average person and second glances are caught everywhere with it... But with that being said, it has nothing close to the attention that my Corvette gets because it was designed with the same aspect your talking about in this thread. Sporty, racey, sharp, and fast looking is what the average eye catches.

Just a comparison though. I still love my Mustang.
i suppose that's exactly what i'm asking, although i feel bad for making a muscle look like a sport, but i just feel like a 600hp musty always and will always get over looked for the ford gt, any porsches, and even the base model (400hp?) vette. granted these are exotics, but why cant the common joe garage mechanic get the same if not more respect than a big company ceo who bought the car because he liked how much it cost? (after all, if my car cost 500k and yours cost 25k, i must be more manly than you :p)

GRANTED they obviously cost more for a reason. and a dang good reason at that. That Italian concept of the newer mustang would have been fantastic, even if....slightly...camaro. (to clarify, i DEFINITELY am not looking to import-ize a glorious american icon. but ford did update the looks for a reason you know?)

IMO

Its stance.. A lowered but other wise stock Mustang looks better then a stock height mustang with wheels..

Then descent paint.

Then nice wheels.

I like different wheels, bumpers and hoods but a lowered clean stock looking GT is still sweet in my book.

A paint job other than a factory offered color is my choice. My paint code is for a dodge prowler. Also, tailihbts fading quickly into the distance is probably my favorite though. That usually turrns a head or two

But this one by brian wowak is an almost perfect representation of what i'd like. its the standard sn95 look, but with the sport car feel. aka wide and low, big wheel wells and big wheels.
