what if i buy some copper tubing, cut and bend it to my needs, install the nuts from the old tube and flare the ends of the copper pipe? Would copper withstand the head from the exhaust gasses?

...or you could just make life easier on yourself and buy the spacers listed in the link I provided.

well, I would buy that but id rather pay 25 bucks at the home depot than $59.99 plus 9.99 x2. I just want to make sure copper would withstand the heat. what do you think?

and besides, the 1" spacer, and the cobra upper do not line up with the egr tube like the stock intake and no spacer did. I just want to make sure copper would withstand the heat from the exhaust gasses?

You don't need a new EGR tube, just a couple spacers.

Meh, you seem to know what you're doing better than I do anyway. Do it your way. I think getting a chunk of copper pipe bent and cut to the right length, then flared to create a leak-free seal is a lot of work.

Of course, the easiest solution is to simply not use the 1" spacer on your intake.

Paul.

I bought the copper tubing (flexible copper) from lowes hardware for 21.90. I bent the tubing and flared the ends and wa la! it works!

i would just cap it off on both ends and get the car tuned and have it turned off. If your tuner knows what he is doing it will run alot better and you will gain a good little bit of power in the process{from the tune, not the loss of the egr] :eek:ccasion14:
