I want them to look OK with my gauges I now have. I'd like to not do that LED switch, if I can keep from it. Here's what I have right now. EL Glow gauges.

I have a pic of those NV's @ night. Not even close!

I wish they showed a pic of them @ night. I want white face, though. Thanks a lot!

But in the day, aren't they black? I never drive my car @ night. I bought these overlays mainly for the white face. On some cloudy days, I like the green they glow. I rarely ever see it @ night unless I am just closing my vert top @ night. Thanks!!

Paul, I'm afraid to ask, but how much was the set of instrument cluster gauges, including the mounting plate if it came as a kit?

The gauges are $2300. The billet gauge plates are manufactured by my friend Mike, who owns www.mc-machine.comhttp://. Normally the foxbody dash plate is $150+shipping and the 3-gauge plate (which is the one I've sold to lots of folks on here) is $67.95 shipped. Mine is custom-made with a few options and LED-backlit indicators that change colors for my electric water pump and electric fan as well.

1STOF3 - they're turn completely black when the car is shut off. Otherwise they're whatever color scheme you prefer. You can take a look at the Demo for them on Autometer's website. They're not for everybody, but I thought I'd throw them out there because the ricer in me *hearts* them.

I also like the Ultra Lite IIs and the Phantom IIs. They're cool.

Paul.

I'm looking @ the Phantoms. I like the orange needle. I've found I need the 5715 for the fuel level. How do I tell which oil pressure & water temp I will need? Thanks again!!

Go to Autometer's website and do some searching around, you'll get all the info you need on various gauges, layouts, sending units, etc. It's quite comprehensive.

Are you asking which oil pressure and water temperature gauge you need? That's really up to you. Just pick out the series, size, mechanical or electric, and full-sweep or not. Then just take that PN and you're all set.

Okay hang on. I guess I'm really confused now. What, specifically, are you asking?

Are you asking if gauges are vehicle-specific? They're not. Some adapters might be different, like a mechanical water temp gauge has a different fitting for SBF motors, but other than that nothing.

As far as $$$, you would of course need to pick gauges that fit your budget as well. You can get the part numbers off of AutoMeter's website, and then compare prices on Summit.

I feel like I taking stabs in the dark at answering your questions. :tongue3:

Sorry about that. I asked the Summit Tech people. They say I need the fuel level 5718, Oil press 5727, & water temp 5737.

I am still going to ask my mechanic if these are OK. I just needed an exact part #. I just ordered those pods. 1 they have to get, will take 7-10 days. Thanks though!!

Don't know about best since that's a rather ill-defined term, but they work well enough for me. If they're good enough for NASCAR and the other zillion auto racing venues, they're good enough for my crappy Mustang. :)
