Mobile 1 5w-whatever with an OEM filter for whatever it is going in.

Royal Purple is better, but Mobile 1 is more easily accessible for me.

well synthetics are not for everyday vehicles...

??????????

they are i didn't explain well i guess.... if you have a car and maintenace is not your thing and its not up to par and you just start running synthetic in it ...your going to have issues and those are the people you will find that bash synthetics....if you only knew the amount of times we sold a synthetic oil to some farmer john or whatever and he said ..thats stuff done junk ..it done made my engine leak...yada yada yada....

i was trying to explain that ......most vehicles that are just dd's done really need synthetic either

Rotella-T 15w40 Full Synthetic with a Wix Racing filter....

....yes I run diesel truck oil in my car. If it can hold up to 10k of abuse from a heavy hauling diesel truck, its good enough for my needs!

and pull 15k lbs of weight. and run under 48lbs of boost on a MILD application. Whats your point? I don't do it b/c its just some "hunch" that I came up with. Ask around...you'd be surprised who runs and reccomends it. We run it in our shop's 1,000+ hp supra as well.

New EPA regs mandated a large reduction in ZDDP (Zinc Dialkyl Dithio Phosphates) because as an engine wears out and consumes more oil, the burnoff of zinc and phosphate could potentially damage catalytic converters. Boo freaking hoo, so the emissions a-holes decided that ZDDP had to be substantially reduced in regular motor oils. BTW, ZDDP is your main anti-wear, anti-corrosive, anti-oxidant additive in oil . The reason that guys are puking so many bearings and valvetrain components nowadays (especially guys with flat tappet cams, etc.) is because they've substantially reduced the PPM of ZDDP.

Diesel oil, however, still has these additives and this is why lots of performance guys are using it. Add the fact that Rotella T is dirt cheap, and it really is win-win. Amsoil is one of the few oils on the market that still has a good amount of ZDDP in the additive packs.

yeah...what he said.

My engine builder says run it and I take his word for gospel....so I do.
