Hello everyone,
I was hoping someone can guide me in the right direction. I purchased a 1995 cobra a few months ago that has a v1 supercharger installed on it not , along with upgraded fuel pump, msd box and so forth, but am not very familiar with non naturally aspirated engines. However the car did not have a wide band gauge installed, which I had installed by a friend who stated it was must to have on any car that was super charged. He stated at WOT I should be reading between 9 and 11 for my air/fuel mixture but the lowest I've seen it drop was down to 12. The vehicle has the stock 24lb injectors on it , and my friend advised me that the vehicle is still running to lean and which could cause some serious problems. I was advised to get bigger injectors which should solve the issue. Is this true, and if so what size injectors should I get.

Need more details please. Is there a chip? Has it been tuned? Is it stock other than the bolted on supercharger?

I ask because the level of add one would help determine the size of the injectors needed.

Also you need to think about how much more you plan to do to the car. If you plan on building the block and doing bigger badder heads then you’d want to oversize the injectors now so that you don’t lean out again later.

Just asking the stuff that will help us help you!!!

And pics would be nice, we love seeing a boosted beast here!!! :)

Thank you evilcw31 for the reply. The motor itself is the bone stock 5.0 with the exception of the super charger. There is not chip, and I am not exactly sure if it has been tuned. Unfortunately I did not but it from the owner who installed everything. It does have an upgraded fuel pump, but I am not sure of the brand at this time. I really do not want to do any other mods to the motor. It has plenty of power for me with the charger on it, I jut want it to run properly and not blow up., hahahaha. I will definitely work on getting some pics

throw in some 42# injectors and get a dyno tune. The wideband is good to see AF but that's about all its good for, wont help in any other way.

Car probably has an FMU that increases fuel pressure as boost increases. System works great for what it is but its not efficient. Power is being left on the table cause of overly rich tune.

These boys said it right. Beef the fuel system up and get a good tune. Be sure all the sensors are in working order as well

I don't think its too rich, I was being told too lean. However I do plan on putting larger injectors and then a tune. Thanks everyone for the input I appreciate it

Go pull a few sparkplugs out. If the ceramic is not white, then its not lean. More white, the more lean. A shade of gray is rich. Black.....well you have a problem

you can also taste it. If its salty then its rich, if its sweet then its lean.

if you lick your spark plug, please post a pic

Thanks for all the input everyone. I guess my real question should have been what range should my Wideband meter read at WOT to make sure my my air/fuel ratio is correct

An air fuel ratio of 14.7:1 is stoich (or ideal) anything above is lean and anything below is rich. If it’s a little rich at WOT you’re ok and if it’s a little lean, on a stock engine with standard timing, you’re likely ok for awhile. As you increase the air into the engine without tuning, you WILL be very lean and eventually can run into pinging, detonation and possibly engine component failure.

Tuners around here like to put things around 11.5:1 for WOT so its “safe”. I feel like 12.5-12.7 is a better area to be in, but that also depends on what fuel you are using and what the engine setup is.

Paint chips for me. The 70's pewter green type color i remember having the best flavor. Tapping the paint chip across the terminals of a dead 9volt battery cooked it alittle.....set the flavor off unbelievable.
