K, Where is the best place to put the bung for a wideband, the car will have longtubes, if anyone has any pictures or has any suggestions thanks! i have it in the rear drivers side plug just to test the readings and everything came out good, but i would assume closer, but i just wanted to get some ideas from everyone.

either side, drive or passenger just have a bung welded in just below the front o2 sensor. I don't have a picture but i had my bung welded in where I could access it better with a socket than the normal o2 sensors. but basically it wont matter too much just put it under the front o2 (i did mine on the driver side o2)

cool, i really didn't wanna weld on the headers, i'll just put it right after the connection to the midpipe.

when you say under, i hope you mean behind. they aren't supposed to be mounted with the sensor facing up. they should always be mounted at the top and face towards the ground.

i had my bung welded right under in the same place same way as my o2 sensor just under it. Any exhaust shop should know that though.

ideal place is right around 10-12 inches from the exhuast ports on the heads.
make sure that the bung is welded so the wideband does not see water.

Actually you wanna have it at least 24 inches away from the block and 16 inches away from a turbo, at least thats what most install recommendations are. EGT are just too hot in most cases and could risk damaging the sensor.

regardless any exhaust shop will know exactly where to put it and it cost me i think $15 for the bung and it welded in. he also put a star plug in it till i installed my wideband. you can't really go wrong i mean you have the basic knowledge where it should go and any real exhaust shop will know where to put it. Just tell them you need to weld in an o2 bung for a wideband sensor.

I have shorts so i have mine in the driver side of the X as close as I could get it to the header with it being angled slightly down so the sensor doesn't collect condensation.

Just had mine installed just below the 1st O2 sensor too. The location of mine is parallel to the shifter opening. Nice open area for the sensor. Had the bung welded at around the 2 o'clock position. Manual says to install bung at 10 to 2 o'clock.
