Window problems

Ok, i just put another motor into my car and was driving it home and noticed that my drivers window wouldn't go down or up. The drivers switch doesn't work for the drivers window or passengers window. The switch will let you lock and unlock the doors though. The passengers window still works, goes up and down. I have checked all the fuses and i have straight wired the drivers side window motor and it let the window back up so I can eliminate that as the problem so what could it be? ANY HELP OR COMMENTS WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED....

What year? Can you hear the window motor trying to run?

its a 94 mustang gt, and no u can't hear anything. I was thinking that it wasn't getting power to it maybe

Id remove the motor and inspect for sherred bushings as shown in the write up below
If the bushings are fine replace motor

but i thought that since i straight wired the motor and it still let the window up and down it was still good, and i know i need to do that because before hand it was making that crackling noise and would only go up with help or down with help.

it could be the motor or the switch which is more then likely if it will not roll down the pass window. The switches work in a master/slave operation so if the master(drivers switch) dies the slave will/can keep working. Pull the door pull/switches out and test the contacts on the back. If I remember correctly the pin in the middle should have +12v switched on it and then when you push the switch it sends it out on one of the other 2 or 4 wires(I think its 4).

I actually have that pulled out on my car right now. If you want to test it on yours we can confirm what should be going on and what you have.
