Started with a 351w
Then went to a 408ci stroker converted to roller cam
I now have standing at my door a chance to get a 427ci stroker that has block filler to support cylinders for nitrous/supercharger

408 is windsor block
427 is cleaveland block

I know absolutely nothing about the cleavelands motors! Are they better
If I went with it what will I have to switchout on the car fuel system, wiring, trans, etc?

clevland motors advantage would be all in the heads but that depends on what heads are on the motor compared to what you had on the 408. need more details

Right now the 408 heads are 60cc World Products Iron heads with a .25" raised exhaust port, 2.08 and 1.62 valves, and scorpion roller rockers

Just spoke with the guy about this 427 he told me that I'd need a tubular chassis or whatever for it cuz it has serious hp. Now I'm just not sure, I donr want a motor for just drag you know?

Suggestion on this?

Good choice... Clevelands are special unless you have I think it's the K Code heads on them. We have a Cleveland in a pickup, but it's got lame heads on them so it's just a regular bread 'n butter engine.

k code was the hi-po 289.

cleveland heads were on the original boss 302 :)

you also have 2v heads and the 4v which is my memory is still good were r,m and q....

there are aftermarket C heads these days which are better.

the C heads have canted valves and depending on which version you have they are hemi-sperical combustion chambers or more of a quench design. they were performance based. you can mate C heads to a W block. use to be coined, clevor motor... all cool stuff but serve a purpose.

i have a friend who has a 408 C stroker motor. NA through a 4 speed it made well over 600

Thanks for correction.. I knew K Code was Mustang/289 oriented, all this stuff is just getting jumbled up in my head since i've been researching stuff for our Cleveland and the 289 in our Fairlane.

I'd definitely stick with a Factory Five.. But i'll post up some pics in a different thread today for you. It's my dad's, so it's not the way I would do it, but it looks pretty cool lol. Too bad it can't get out of it's own way.
