2" is the max in Va for an 02 car. If it was a 91 I could go to 2 1/4". I will probably be a little taller than the law will like.

How do you think it will look if I leave the front rims the stock bullitts and put 10.5 bullitts on the back? Will 17" rims look good when lowered or would I need to go 18"?

My thinking is that I could use my stock front 17's and get 2 deep dish 10.5 17's in the rear. That would save a pretty good chunk of cash.

Lowering it will dramatically change the look of it no matter what wheels you have. It would look good on stock wheels lowered though. What tires you have in the back?

Right now I am not sure. They are pretty narrow. I am guessing whatever they come with stock. I am going to run a 10.5 rim. What is the widest I can get without sticking out from the fenderwell? What backspacing should I look for in a 10.5" rear wheel? And what is the average that most springs lower our cars? I like the look of these on a black car with the pony in the grille painted to match. It says the offset is +40mm and the width is only 7.5".
I will probably go with the 17" 10.5 anthracite deep dish bullitt with a polished lip.

Just so you know there isn't a aftermarket wheel out there that will match the OEM color.

And DEFINITELY leave the spoiler on.

That sucks. I guess I will have to get a whole set. I see you have the XXR 521's. I have been looking at the XXR 526's. Ebay has them for $628 + $120 shipping Below is the info they gave about fitment. I would just have to figure out exactly what I need to make them fit.

  • XXRRacing526
  • Finish: Gloss Black with Machine Lip.
  • Size: 2 Front Rims are 18X9.0 with +25 offset and over 2.5" lip
  • Size: 2 Rear Rims are 18x10.5 with +20 offset and over 4.0" lip
  • Bolt Pattern 5 Lugs: 5x114.3 & 5x120
  • Center Caps Included
  • Require Tuner Lug Nuts, Valve Stems and Hub Centric Rings (Not Included)

I'm usually not a big fan of XXR's but I would rock the 526s in a heartbeat. We can't all afford HREs so those will do lol.

OMG did Ferocious just say something good about XXR's??? I'm shocked!!! Haha

There comes a point in life where you just say "screw it, i'll just buy reps instead of spending $1600 a wheel" and this is that point lol.

I really really like those wheels. :)

There's nothing wrong with replicas. I love mine but wish they were a different color. I'd like to get the Gold ones too. But for the price I paid I couldn't pass them up. For $550 I got basically brand new Toyo Proxies in 245/40 and 275/35 and the wheels look new except a small minor curbage on one of the rears. Plan on fixing it soon and it'll look like the rest. Might try to trade em off. I don't keep wheels for too long. This is the fourth set in the 2.5 years of owning it. LoL

It really isn't an issue of affordability. I just can't justify spending $5000 on a set of HRE 560's.When I can get spend less $1000 for rims that have a similar look. To me when looking at rims it is not really a brand that I go for but the look. Granted craftsmanship is going to better on the HRE rims. But either can only go round and round and that is pretty much all they can do. If XXR had safety issues then I would go different route. From what I can find they have pretty good safety standards. I have had a 3-piece wheel disintegrate at high speeds. Not a lot of fun.

You take the title of Resident Wheel Whore.

Thought you traded for those Saleens or am I thinking of someone else??

haha no the saleens have stayed ..., putting the Falken RT615 on all 4 corners has secured there position for a little while
