Wings with better rear visibility?

My car has the standard low-profile wing on it that seems to present a fairly serious problem at night - I can’t tell a car is behind me unless they’re 5+ car lengths back.

I don’t want to get rid of a wing completely, I don’t think the car will look right - but I definitely need something else. Either like a low profile drag style wing I can see over or something that’s a bit thinner with decent stand-offs so I can see underneath it.

Any recommendations? It would have to be a paintable wing, something I can keep body color so it looks like it belongs there.

do you drive differently when a car is back 5 spots vs when they tail gate you? I mean don't get me wrong, we all want to slow down 5-10 mph when that clown gets on our tail just to show that we don't have to go that fast but its never been a requirement for me.

I’m very aware of my surroundings, I like to know where every car is around me so I know what my options are in a bad situation. Have you ever been rear-ended? Well 24 years driving and I never have been - and that’s because I even account for people behind me when I have to make any type of evasive move.

I’m a firm believer that every single accident that happens while moving can be avoided by both parties involved - even when an accident is deemed 100% no fault by one party.

And for example; last year an accident happened in front of me a few cars up - my car had time to stop but it’s on sticky rubber with good brakes - but the guy behind me was closing fast so I darted onto the shoulder to avoid being rear-ended. Maybe he could have stopped in time, but he was definitely next to me by the time we all came to a complete stop.

are you saying you have the stock wing now, or the saleen version that everyone has swapped to. Short of something super rice I don't know of anything that allows more visability then the stock spoiler

My stock wing was never in my view and I’m not exactly the tallest guy driving a mustang.

And as to being able to avoid being rear ended, I call bs that you can always avoid it.

When your sitting in multiple lanes of traffic and can’t move and someone comes flying up from behind you have absolutely no where to go. Not to mention sometimes it’s so fast that unless your permanently staring at your rear view you may not be looking when it happens.

They’re called accidents for a reason, they’re not always controllable.

I specifically said “while moving” because obviously you can’t do anything once you’ve come to a complete stop unless there’s no one in front of you. And you most certainly should be looking in all of your mirrors constantly all of the time. That’s why they’re there.

I linked to the wing I have in the original post. Click on “standard low profile wing”

this would allow for a better view but other then this I am not sure what to say.

I have that wing. Still new never installed. We bolted it on for pics then removed.

If your so short that the low profile is too much in your view then do the cobra r shown. It will let you look right under it. [emoji38]

Hell, I’ll sell you mine for a special price.
