So... i've looked on here and seen similiar issues to mine, but none exactly like it. It's for my 97 stang and I'm guessing it's the multi-function switch needing replaced but i want to make sure. The first time i noticed something wrong was when i tried spraying to get bird crap off my windshield and nothing was coming out so at first thought I was thinking i was out of washer fluid, but then i started thinking why aren't the wipers going like their suppose to even if i am out of washer fluid. So i was like whatever no biggie i'll just stop at a gas station and get it later and then check out what is going wrong with my wipers. Then the second issue started; in the middle of pouring down rain when i was on the highway my wipers would swipe once, but after that not swipe again no matter what speed they were set to. :BangHead: BUT!!! then randomly would work at random which i later found out when my left turn signal is on the wipers will work along with washer fluid, etc. And then of course my luck i was playing around in snow this past week and got stuck because some idiot cut me off and i got caught on a patch of snow in the middle of some traffic so i attempted to turn on my flashers which wouldn't work at all of course. :angry7: and then along with this my left headlight went out, but i'm hoping that isn't related to this issue because i replaced the bulb and it works perfectly.

So any ideas besides besides being the multi-function switch going out? Also i went to autozone and the part is like $40 which i've thought maybe i could replace myself, but not sure how? I called local service areas to see how much they would charge to do it and the local ford place said $200 just for part and labor without diagnose. I'm thinking that's ridiculous so i called other places and they said they wouldn't do it due to having to take out the steering column and dash? I doubt that's what has to be done, but that ideas out so its either spend around $300-350, pay $40 and find out how to replace it/ or find some awesome person locally that knows what theyre doing :notworthy: but besides that i need to know if that's actually what's wrong first. Please put in your 2cents!! It will be much appreciated.

I own a repair shop in texas Replace combo swith do not get at Auto Zone . A used ford part would be the beter.
a new motorcraft part would be best, motorcraft can be bought at many auto parts stores not just ford.
I can sell U a used one for 25.00 plus ride.

Ya, I would say multi-function switch. I had a very similar problem with my stang, replaced that bad boy and I was good to go. I used a CarQuest one.
