Wondering about E7 heads

When somebody refers to E7 heads, whats the skinny on these things. Are they good? Are they bad? Found a set for $150 Candian. They have been cleaned up. The bump in the exhaust side removed. I think the ad said new valve seats. Saw someone post that they were running 12's with these heads. Are they better than the heads on my 95? I've heard in 95, the 5.0 changed to a GT-40 style head that was suppose to be the best put on of any year. Any help would be appreciated.

E7's are a stock head. I wouldn't bother with them. I would save up and get a set of AFR's or something similar. You can even find some GT40's for good prices if you look around long enough.

I agree, at my local junk yard I can pick up a set of GT40's for $80

What year vehicles should I be looking for that would have GT40 heads. Is it true that the heads on my 95 GT would be GT40's? If so I'll look for another set.

Unless someone has changed them the heads on your GT should be e7's, I think it's the 96 and early 97 explorers that have the gt40's and the 94-95 cobras have them as well

E7 heads are junk. They are the asthmatic constriction of the 5.0. Gt40's are better, but trust me, not that much better. Gt40 heads come on 96-early 97 explorers and 94-95 Cobras. GT40p heads are a little better in stock form, but there are spark plug and header issues on our cars. They come on the 97-99 explorers or something like that. Truthfully, if you're looking for a good set of heads for cheap... find a set of GT40's and port them yourself.

Yeah if you get a set of gt40p it's a good idea to grab a set of Taylor wires while your at it and also the FRPP headers will bolt right up to the P's.
