The welds are really good with no extra slag. No grinds either which is what impressed me. yes, this is my wifes car. I'm done with my car. It's actually pretty boring now. My engine and blower is going in her car sometime this month and I'm getting an old fastback to build. I'm looking to build a NA cammer now and I'll be happy with 450 with an old fastback.

Thats good, i didn't think they could keep putting out the stuff they were in 08 and stay in business. J.R. does cruise the forums and has taken some crap from people he has known for years over QC so i'm glad your stuff was good.

I thought the wife was getting a KB.

When I told her I didn't want my car anymore she asked for my engine and blower because it's already done. lol I still want to use a KB with her car but she like the price of free more than 5k for a KB, lol.

Actually when I called QA1 they told me outright that since this is a street car NOT to buy their kit. They said it's too weak for the street. QA1 told me the best setup would be either gms with their coil overs or MM with their coil overs if I wanted to spend a lot more money.

GMS is a proven company but many of the small minders think that since they are a popular import company that their american car products must be rice.. This is absolutely not true.
Heck they upgraded my to the platnum kit (newer design that's stronger) for free. I got their 900$ kit for 615$ just because they had the exta and didn't want to make me wait for their next set of plain K members to get done.

I'm taking it get alighned today!

The member weighs 39lbs and the A arms are 8lbs each. The welds are as good as they get with no grinds or slag.

whaaattt??!??!!??! please explain.

Updates? How did it turn out? Curious about the fit...

Turned out great!

Not one single problem. Aligned perfect. Now we just need CC plates to lower it more. NVH is something to get used to though.

Did you lose any ground clearance with it compared to the stock K. By that i mean the actual Kmember parts and not the ride height of car. My friend was on the phone with MM last week and they told him on his Fox he would lose some clearance compared to stock. I've never swapped a K on a SN95 so i can't speak from experience and don't want to swap out K's if it will actually be lower than the stock.

No, if anything you gain clearance. Not much mind you but there is a little more "Tuck" of it. If you look at the stock K up top, you'll see the Lip that kicks out all around the edges. (Stamped for strength) The round tubular steel has less low flat material to hit on anything so there is less chances to hit anything.

MM actually says that their Members aren't built for weight reduction, they are built for strength so that explains why there would be less clearance. MM is a good unit for sure but the GMS is defiantly top quality.

Hey Art have you seen a few of these in person?
I think the thing that worries some of us is one person will get a GMS product and it will be perfect but then someone else will buy the same thing and it comes not as good. Has GMS upped its quality over the past few years to where i could trust putting a K like this in my Daily Driven weekend racer? You know how bad the roads are in our area so what do you think?

I have seen a couple in person and actually have a local customer that put a 460 in his car and he is picky but also also very impressed on the qualtiy of the welds and it fit with no problems in his 2002

I got it for 615 shipped from summit. There are no roads worse than the ones in Michigan, lol and the only complaint I have is the NVH but that should be expected.

My wife puts about 40miles a day between school and work (Plus the occasional trip to Chicago) and she says she doesn't even notice it anymore. If anyone knows anything about my cars budgets and builds, they should know I don't spare $ and I wont buy something that's questionable. It's good so far and of course, I'll let everyone know if anything changes.

I have to agree on the suckiness of roads in Michigan.. i'm down here in Texas but my dad and I went on the power tour through Michigan. Pretty sure those crappy roads finished off what was left of the suspension in our 66' Fairlane. Potholes bigger than in most gully-washed driveways.
