I’m reversing… no, “amending” my earlier decision to get away from the blacked out look. A while back I put in a “contact me when it’s back in stock” ticker with LMR regarding the 2003 Cobra Replica offset wheel set. We’ll, they came back in, I ordered them and they’ll be here this week.
I’m going to order the same Nitto 555rII rears and the Nitto 555gII fronts.
Two sets to suit my mood! Pics to follow…

Thanks Pinkie & Opal! As luck would have it, the Amazon delivery guy who works my area spotted my car parked down the driveway. Through brief conversation I come to find out he as 2 Mustangs, one of which has 10.5” rears begging for tires! Huh, what a coincidence: I happen to have two 315/35x17 tires available. A deal was struck and he came by the next day and got them! Sweet!!! Help offset cost of new tires/wheels.

I'm curious to see how you like the DR. I've got the 555RII and honestly, I'm not impressed. My stock-ish '94 breaks them loose pretty easily with the 4.10s.

I should say 555G2. I'll also add that I've been caught in the rain in them a couple of times, and they are downright scary. I don't know if it is because of the staggered size or what, but I was all over the place at highway speed with them.

Good to know, thx, Joe.

I like them. Seems a noticeably cushier ride. Maybe it’s because of the 45 profile versus the 30 profile on the 315’s? And yes, all it takes is one glance at the drag radials (even brand new) to notice there ain’t a whole lot of tread depth there. So, immediately comes to mind that they will be crap in the rain or wet conditions. I’ll consider myself warned, and hope I never get caught in that situation.

Yeah I'd imagine the DR would be horrendous in the wet. The G2 have a really nice tread depth, but for whatever reason, they are shit in the wet.

Ok, note to self: Don’t drive in the rain or in wet road conditions.

Got it, thx!

Ok, everyone… so if the Nitto GII’s suck in the rain, what tire IS good for our Ponies in the rain? Or all-weather for that matter??
