Heya everyone.
As you know, I dropped a 2004 cobra engine into my 96 GT.
It runs great, and it doesnt give me any problems, but last sunday I took it out and it stalled after a bout of "spirited driving" .... through 3rd and 4th gear I pushed it pretty hard to finally start to see what it can do (now that it's been tuned and the clutch has some miles on it.)
After taking my foot out of it, and putting it into 5th, the car would stall out on me.
. .... fast forward to today and I'm driving home from work and I push it in 5th. I only go roughly a city block or so simply to test the car to see if re-creating the problem is possible. Which it is.
After going WOT, the car dropped oil PSI to about 10 PSI so I pulled over and killed the engine. It would restart, but then stall. I opened the throttle a slight bit and it started just fine. drove it home with no issues.
The exhaust does have a slight backfire, which seems kind of random... (does it when its hot, cold, cruising on the highway, at a stop light....) ..
Let me know what you guys think!
car specs:
*2004 cobra engine - late build, 9 thread heads.
*2004 cobra computer system from headlight to tail light.
*dyno tuned, list of modifications a mile long, but major ones include fuel, ported/pullied blower, and bolt ons.
